Activity Descriptor:
The giant tetrahedron (a triangular based pyramid) is an impactful activity, creating a 4 metre x 4 metre structure using only dowels and elastic bands.
The emphasis is on team work and listening to and following instructions. Many roles in the construction industry can be incorporated into the activity as well as the building process making it an excellent illustrative and fun activity.
Activity Aims: To promote a wide range of construction careers and different aspects of the construction process including: health and safety (H&S), team work, engineering problem solving and working to timescales.
For participants to use the key skills which are relevant to the construction industry e.g. co-operation, communication, problem solving, planning.
Audience (Recommended Age):
- 11 - Adult
- Including Influencers e.g. teachers, careers advisers
Group Size: Participants can either work in small groups/teams of 2 - 4 people but overall group size is unrestricted.
